Itinerary

Day 01: Kampala-Lake Bunyonyi

Early morning, Tangaza Tours representative meets you at your hotel and drives you to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale; an interesting 6-hour drive through three different types of vegetation.

The first two hours will take you through typical tropical countryside with large swamps, Mpanga Forest, and the Equator where you can make a brief stop-over and stride the northern and southern hemisphere! community safaris in uganda

Thereafter, you will drive through the flat savannah country where you are likely to observe the famous long-horned Ankole cows; you can stop for lunch at Mbarara before continuing through the impressive hilly country of Kabale, popularly known as “the Switzerland of Uganda”, and arrive at Lake Bunyonyi, the third deepest lake in the world, in the late afternoon. This Lake is surrounded by steep mountains and doted with small Islands among which is Ha'Buharo Island; your destination.

Tangaza Tours will pick you up from your own private landing, with secure parking for patrons’ vehicles, and transport you in their fully-equipped motor boats to Ha'Buharo Island-Heritage Lodge, a 25 minutes boat ride. The island and the lodge are entirely owned and operated by Tangaza Tours, thus affording you undivided attention, peace and quiet.

You can spend the afternoon on the lake in a dugout canoe, or bird watching and relaxing in the evening by the lakeside. In the evening Ha’Buharo Island, at your request, can entertain you with traditional dancers as you warm up over a camp fire. A good restaurant and bar, hot showers in self-contained tents, are assured at Ha’Buharo Islands’ Heritage Lodge. You will be lulled to sleep by the sound of small birds, crickets and frogs in the water, and you will wake up to incredible birdsong and spectacular sunrise over the water on this enchanted island.

Day 02: Lake Bunyonyi-Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, you will take a boat ride to Nyombe swamp for bird watching, then you can visit the pygmies’ communities and drive back to the Lodge for lunch. After Lunch, you will depart to kabala twon to visit the Bakiga Museum, and there after to Lake Mburo National Park.
Lake Mburo National Park has markedly different fauna to other Parks and reserves, and it is the best place in the country to see the gigantic eland antelope, as well as Zebra, Topi, impala, and several acacia-associated birds. The lakes within the park attract hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of water birds. Have an evening game drive. Dinner and over nightaccommodation of your choice (budget or Luxury).

Day 03: Lake Mburo- Kampala

After breakfast, enjoy the boat cruise, thereafter retire to the Lodge for lunch, and depart in the evening for Kampala.

This cost Includes:
